Ying Lee gave an artist lecture on the 14th of September on the third floor of the library at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Carrie Patterson, director of the Art/Art History Department and also my Art history teacher, introduced Ying to the public. Ying then took the floor and provided us a brief over view of her life story and then immediately started talking bodies of work that she created through out her years as a painter. Either before or after each work, she would describe what the painting was about, what her influences were during this time, what she liked and didn’t like, and what she was mainly focusing on her projects.
