Her most well-known work was from the year 2007. It was titled series of Landscape paintings. After talking about her life, she started to talk about how here paintings have changed 3 – 4 years ago and how they were memories of how she saw them. Through out her lecture she had mentioned that the subjects of her paintings had changed over time moving from landscapes, to portraitures, then to Chinese calligraphy, and then to objects in landscapes such as the water and a boat.
I have never done any real paintings before but I found it aesthetically interesting how she started drawing paintings that were of her Chinese culture. Since she was far away from home, she must have been feeling homesick. It’s always nice to see an artist trying to paint landscapes and people from the place that she left behind. It’s almost as if the artist can’t let go or they could just miss them. The style of her paintings sort of resembled Chinese calligraphy because of the jet black thick lines.
