The final due date of the project was near and I was slowly starting to make some progress towards what I wanted to do for the final project. I know that I wanted to work with figures but I couldnt quite figure out who they were going to be, what they were going to stand for, what the background was, how to place them in an installation, and the list goes on.
There were some things going on in my personal life that just some how managed to slip into my project. The idea which hasnt been mentioned yet) seemed to help make a concrete idea for the project. The idea was to have a series of images that showed past, present, and future family photographs of my family. The entire project is about my perception of my family over time. In regards to the general audience, the mirror will be used to make them think about their own relationships with their family members.
When I figured out what kinds of images I wanted, how many of them, the type of surface, and the size of the piece/images, I was ready to get started with the transferring process. Of course, I had my images already printed and ready to be transferred.
I first was clean the mirror and cut out 6x8 sheets of paper so that I can see how the images would look like on the mirror. From then I cut out more pieces of paper to cover the extra space of the mirror to prevent it from getting dirty or wiped on by the dass solution. Then I made one coat of the solution after an hour and then made a second. From there I was ready to proceed with the transfers. I was a little nervous
as to how the transfers would turn out but I manages. Having less of the supersauce gave me a clean and nice finished image compared to a heavy coated one which will distort the image.
After finishing up all the transfers and cleaning them, my prints were ready to be hanged.
