E. N. Rader

I was born in Florida, 1993. I am a former Navy brat and a nowhere native. I enjoy travelling and hope to do more when I get the chance to do so. Both my love of wandering, adaptively and being able to observe other cultures from a young age are reflected my art. Currently I am a sophomore at St. Mary’s College of Maryland pursuing bachelors in Art and Art History and minoring in Museum Studies.
The camera is an extension of my own will and in a way, It is what I use to see the world. The medium I primarily use is black and white film photography. I often use text and experimental development techniques. I work with both obscuring and revealing in addition to studying the ideas that shadow and light can communicate. A short list of my influences includes Jenny Holzer, René Magritte, Francesca Woodman, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Sanja Iveković, Giorgio de Chirico, Nkisi figures, and Sally Man.
