Xander walks back outside the house, looking down at the gate. To his surprise, he sees Emily waiting for him at the fence. He runs back to her, asking when she got back. Her tear filled eyes looked up to Xander in relief.
“Xander, you just disappeared!”
Not knowing what to do, Xander decides to walk the scared Emily back home. As they walked away, Xander could have sworn he heard a sad voice say, “Awww, I thought you wanted to play.” Yet as he looked back to see who spoke, he saw nothing behind him.
But he had to deal with Emily’s tears first, so he simply forgot about the disembodied voice.
